Getting started

What is Vibnelo?

An arena for what you make in 30 seconds: songs, voice, dance, jokes, photos, pets, style and tricks. Take a dare, post your answer, duel anyone and let everyone vote. New songs are heard here first too, as their 30-second hooks.

Do I need an account?

No. You can listen, like and vote without one.

Who can make an account?

Anyone who is 16 or older.

Can I install Vibnelo like an app?

Vibnelo runs in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

  • iPhone: open vibnelo.com in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android and desktop Chrome: use the Install button.
How do I turn notifications on or off?

In Settings → Notifications. Each kind has its own switch: Messages, Friend requests, Comments & replies, Likes & gifts, Battles & calls, and Drops & premieres. You can also turn off message previews, so notifications don't show what a message says.

Why don't I get notifications on my iPhone?

On iPhone they work only once Vibnelo is on your Home Screen. Add it (see above), open Vibnelo from the Home Screen, then turn notifications on in Settings → Notifications.

Something isn't working.

Go to Settings → Help & legal → Report a problem.

Account & sign-in

What's my password?

There isn't one. Vibnelo uses passkeys only: you sign in with your device's face, fingerprint or screen lock. You don't need a password or an e-mail address.

What is the recovery key?

When you sign up, Vibnelo shows you a recovery key, only once. Save it somewhere safe right away: it is the only way back into your account without your device. Don't share it with anyone. Vibnelo will never ask you for it.

How do I sign in on a computer?

With your phone. On the computer, choose to sign in with your phone and it shows a QR code. Scan the code with your phone's camera, or open Settings → Account → Sign in a computer on your phone and type the code the computer shows.

How do I delete my account?

In Settings. That removes your profile, likes, comments, friends and hit calls, and deletes your drops and their files. It also deletes every chat you are in, for both people, and your blocks.

Listening & battles

How does listening work?

Every song starts with its hook: the thirty seconds its artist believes will stop you. The words light up as they are sung. If it gets you, stay. If not, the next one is a flick away.

What is a battle?

Two hooks, no names. Hear both, pick the one you would play again, then see what everyone else picked.

What is the chart?

The chart shows the 50 hottest hooks on Vibnelo right now, ranked by Heat: how many of the people who heard a hook went on to finish it, like it, save it, comment or call it, next to every other live hook.

Vibes & calls

What are Vibes?

Free points inside Vibnelo that you use to call hits early. They have no money value: they can't be bought, sold or exchanged, and can't be cashed out for money. We may adjust Vibes that came from abuse (bots, multiple accounts, coordinated voting). See the Terms.

How do I get Vibes?

You earn them for free: by listening to hooks to the end, voting in battles, opening your daily chest and inviting friends. You can't buy them.

What does it mean to call a hit?

When you hear a hook you think will climb, tap Call it and choose how many Vibes to put on it. If more people fall for that hook by tomorrow than for the rest of the charts, you called it: your Ear Score goes up and your Vibes grow with it.

What is the Ear Score?

It measures how early you spot hits: your calls and battle votes are scored by what other listeners do next, and can raise or lower it. A like can only raise it.

Hook Lab & uploads

How do I drop a song?

Drop the whole song: only the 30-second hook you choose is uploaded, and the full song stays on your device. You keep all rights to your music, and we never use it to train AI. How it works: For artists.

What can I upload?

Only songs you have the rights to. AI-made music is welcome when your tool allows release. No voice clones of real singers, and no samples you don't have rights to.

Which files can I drop?

MP3, WAV or M4A, exported from the tool you made the song with. You can drop up to 10 songs at once in Hook Lab.

How is a drop checked?

Every drop is checked automatically (the words, the artist name, copies of hooks already on Vibnelo and, where available, an audio fingerprint against released songs) and goes live right away; a drop the check flags waits for a person.

Someone uploaded my song. What do I do?

Report the hook (Share, then Report) or write to us. How claims work: Copyright & reports.

Plans & payments

Is Vibnelo free?

Yes. Listening, battles, calls, friends and messages are free for everyone. A free account can also drop five hooks a day, as yourself or as your one artist.

What does Headliner add, and what does it cost?

Headliner is the status for creators who want more: 70% of every real gift instead of 60%, a Headliner badge on your profile, up to five artists on one account, 20 drops, 10 version tests and 10 Spotlights a day. It costs €4.99 a month or €39.99 a year, VAT included. More on Plans.

Am I charged anything now?

No. Payments aren't open yet. Until they are, every account is on Free and nothing is charged.

What happens to my artists if Headliner ends?

They stay, with their hooks and fans. You just can't add new artists beyond the Free limit.

Can I buy Vibes?

No. Vibes are free points inside Vibnelo. You can't buy them or cash them out.

Coins are something else: they are bought with money and pay for real gifts. See Coins and Vibes.

Gifts & earning

What are real gifts?

Gifts that fans send with Vibnelo Coins on any post: a song, a photo, a joke, a dance. They show on the post, and its author earns money from each one.

Real gifts open soon. Until then nothing can be bought or sent.

How much does the author get?

1 cent for every coin of a gift: a Note (5 coins) is €0.05, Fire (20 coins) €0.20, a Guitar (100 coins) €1 and a Crown (500 coins) €5. That is about 60% of what Vibnelo receives once VAT and the payment fee are paid. A Headliner gets 1.15 cents a coin, about 70%.

Who can get real gifts? Is there a minimum?

Everyone with an account, from their first post. There is no follower or view minimum, and you don't need to go live. They are switched on for every account from the start; you can turn them off in Studio, under Wallet. Vibnelo's own artists and its AI personas can't get them, and nobody can send them to their own posts. Posts made with AI tools get them like any other post.

How do I get the money?

What your gifts earn waits in your Wallet in Studio. Payouts open soon: from €20, for authors who are 18 or older. Before they open, we add the payout terms to the Terms. Taxes on what you earn are yours to report where you live.

What are Coins and what do they cost?

Coins pay for real gifts. 100 coins cost €2.50, 550 cost €12 and 1,200 cost €25, VAT included. Checkout runs through Stripe, our payment partner and the seller of record, and you get a VAT receipt.

Coins open soon. Nothing is charged yet.

Are Coins the same as Vibes?

No. Vibes are free points you earn by listening and playing; you use them to call hits and send Vibes gifts, and they can't be bought. Coins are bought with money and only pay for real gifts. Neither can be cashed out: the money from Coins goes to the authors you gift.

Can I get my money back for Coins?

If a purchase went wrong (charged twice, or the coins never arrived), write to contact@vibnelo.com. A gift that was sent can't be taken back. The full rules are in the Terms.

Privacy & safety

Someone is bothering me. What can I do?

Block them: they can't message you, send you friend requests, comment on your hooks or see your profile, and they aren't told. You can also report them. The Safety Center explains blocking, reporting, message requests, private accounts, keyword filters and screen time.

Want to report a hook, a comment, a person or a message?

See Reporting in the Safety Center.

What does a private account do?

With a private account, only your friends see your liked hooks, reposts and hit calls. Your profile, name and hooks stay visible.

What does Vibnelo store about me?

It's all in the Privacy Policy. In short: we show no ads and sell no data.

Does Vibnelo use cookies?

One cookie, and only when you sign in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party cookies, so there is no cookie banner. More in the Cookie Policy.

Can I download my data?

Yes. Settings → Account → Download your data gives you a JSON file with your profile, your settings, your activity (likes, uploads, comments, votes and more) and the messages in your chats. You can download it up to 3 times a day. The full list is in the Privacy Policy.

Messages & friends

How do I add a friend?

Open their profile and tap Add friend; once they accept, you're friends. In Add friends you can also search for an @name or invite a friend with your link.

Who can message me?

Only your friends, unless you change it. In Settings → Privacy → Direct messages choose Friends (the default), Everyone (people who aren't your friends can send you a message request) or No one.

What can I send?

Text up to 1,000 characters, and hooks shared from Vibnelo, with a short note if you like. Photos, videos and voice messages can't be sent.

What is a message request?

One message from someone who isn't your friend. You choose Accept, Delete or Block. Until you accept, they can't send more and don't see that you read it. Requests can't contain links, and deleting one doesn't notify the sender.

What can I do in a chat?

React to a message, reply to it, or unsend one you sent (that removes it for both of you). You can also mute a chat, pin up to 5 chats and delete a chat.

If I delete a chat, is it gone for the other person too?

No. It leaves your inbox only; the other person keeps their copy. Once both of you have deleted it, its messages are deleted from Vibnelo's servers.

Can I hide "Seen" and "Active now"?

Yes. Turn off read receipts in Settings → Privacy; while they're off, you don't see anyone else's either. "Active now" is shown only to your friends, and you can turn it off.

Why can't I send more messages?

To stop spam, there's a limit on messages per minute and per day, and on new requests per day. New accounts can't send requests in their first hour.

Does Vibnelo read my messages?

No. The only exception is a report: if you or the other person reports a message, we get that message and up to 5 messages before it in the same chat, so a moderator can understand it. More in the Safety Center.

Worlds & dares

What are worlds?

Vibnelo has 8 worlds: Music, Voice, Dance, Humour, Photo, Pets, Style, Skills. Each has its own dares, battles, duels and chart. Pick yours when you start; you can switch any time.

How does a post win?

In battles: two posts side by side, and everyone votes for the better one. Every win lifts a post up its world's chart, and the wins stay on your name.

What is the dare of the day?

One dare for everyone in a world, new every day at midnight UTC. You can take any other dare too, any time.

How does a duel work?

Pick one of your posts and send the link to anyone. They have two days to answer, in the browser, no app needed. Then everyone votes for a day, and more votes wins.

Do I need an account?

To watch and vote, no. To post or start a duel, yes, and it's free.

Can I delete my post?

Yes, any time, from the post itself.

Each world

MusicHooks: the 30 seconds of a song that grab you.

What do I post? Your own song (MP3, WAV or M4A). Hook Lab finds its best thirty seconds, and only those are uploaded: the full song stays on your device.

Tips

  • Drop the whole song: Hook Lab finds the thirty seconds that stop people.
  • The first three seconds decide a swipe. Start where the song grabs.
  • Not sure which cut is best? Test two versions in Battles.

The Music guide for creators →

VoiceSing, rap, imitate. Over a Vibnelo instrumental.

What do I post? Your voice over a Vibnelo instrumental, 10 to 30 seconds.

Tips

  • Headphones on: you hear the beat, the recording hears only you.
  • Start with the line you sing best. The first seconds decide.
  • A quiet room beats a good microphone.

The Voice guide for creators →

Dance15 seconds, one song, your moves.

What do I post? A video of 5 to 30 seconds. It plays to the song of the day. Record it in the app with the front camera after a 3-2-1, or pick a video from your phone.

Which song is it? The song of the day: one of the hottest hooks on Vibnelo, the same for everyone. It plays while you record.

Tips

  • Start on the beat, not before it. The first second decides if people stay.
  • Film where your whole body fits, feet too, with the light in front of you.
  • One move nobody expects wins more votes than ten perfect ones.

The Dance guide for creators →

HumourThe funniest answer wins.

What do I post? A text of up to 280 characters, or a video of 3 to 30 seconds. Film the video in the app or pick one from your phone.

Tips

  • Put the punchline in the last three words.
  • Short wins. If you can cut a word, cut it.
  • Take something everyone lives through, then twist it.

The Humour guide for creators →

PhotoOne theme, one photo, the best eye wins.

What do I post? A photo. Take it in the app or pick one from your gallery. Where it was taken and with which camera are removed before it uploads.

Tips

  • Light first: shoot by a window or in the blue hour.
  • One subject. Nothing else in the frame should pull the eye.
  • Get closer than feels right.

The Photo guide for creators →

PetsThe cutest, the funniest, the most dramatic.

What do I post? A photo, or a video of 3 to 30 seconds. Take it in the app or pick one from your phone.

Tips

  • Get down to their eye level.
  • Shoot a burst: the funniest frame comes right after the pose.
  • Let them be themselves. Never stress an animal for a picture.

The Pets guide for creators →

StyleYour look for a song or a theme. Your face is optional.

What do I post? A photo. Take it in the app or pick one from your gallery. Where it was taken and with which camera are removed before it uploads.

Do I have to show my face? No. The look gets the votes, not the face: crop it out or turn away.

Tips

  • Show the whole look, head to shoes, against a calm background.
  • Daylight shows colours as they are.
  • Your face is optional: the look gets the votes.

The Style guide for creators →

SkillsTricks, sport and talents in 30 seconds.

What do I post? A video of 3 to 30 seconds. Record it in the app with the back camera, or pick a video from your phone.

Tips

  • Show the whole trick in one take. No cuts, no doubts.
  • Start right before the trick. Every second of waiting loses people.
  • Film from the side and keep the back camera steady.
